Coming Together When It Matters Most

TORONTO (May 8, 2020) -- Rhapsody Property Management Services ("Rhapsody"), Canada's premier multifamily property management firm focused on new development purpose-built rental communities, is proud to highlight campaigns happening across its portfolio of managed properties, in support of local community organizations battling against the spread of COVID-19 and working towards a cure.

The Montgomery, offering boutique rental living in the Yonge and Eglinton neighbourhood, will be donating $20,000 to the Sunnybrook Foundation COVID-19 Response Fund, on behalf of the community. This fund is dedicated to ensuring frontline teams have the tools and equipment they need to work at their highest capacity. The Sunnybrook Foundation COVID-19 Response Fund supports vital research already underway that could fast-track improved diagnostics, vaccines and antivirals that will impact how we treat COVID-19.

The Residence at Weston, located in the historic downtown Weston area of Toronto, is donating $20,000 to The Humber River Hospital Foundation COVID-19 Response Fund, on behalf of the community. The Fund is centred around alleviating some of the stress felt by healthcare teams in our local community, and helps pay for things like meals and travel for frontline workers so that they can continue to provide care to those who need it.

West22, a new rental property offering resort-style living which is also located in Toronto's Weston neighbourhood, is donating $20,000 to Black Creek Community Farm on behalf of the community. Black Creek Community Farm is a start-up focused on improving food security, reducing social isolation and improving employment and education outcomes, and is providing families in the community impacted by COVID-19 with emergency food boxes.

VIA123, a rental community located in North York, is donating $20,000 to The North York General Hospital COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund, on behalf of the community. The Fund supports equipment including ventilators and personal protective equipment, as well as the development of a virtual care platform for COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 patients to expand virtual visits with physicians and nurses, staff training and redevelopment to ensure that all frontline workers are properly trained to support any COVID-19-related needs and frontline wellness through dedicated resources to support the physical, mental and emotional health and well-being of frontline staff.

In addition to these donations, during the month of May, each community will be raising funds for these charities, encouraging team members, residents, vendors and other community members to support as they are able. Any amount helps. If you would like to make an individual contribution in addition to the donation from your community, you can do so by visiting one of the following CanadaHelps Donation Pages:

The Montgomery in support of Sunnybrook COVID-19 Research and Preparedness Fund

The Residence at Weston The Humber River Hospital COVID-19 Response Fund

West22 in support of Black Creek Community Farm

VIA123 in support of North York General Hospital COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund

Finally, for those who may need to move during the pandemic, each community will donate an additional $500 to their respective charity for every new renter who decides to make their home at one of these properties. We recognize that moving during the COVID-19 pandemic is an unusual experience and that renters may not be able to rely on friends and family to help with their move during this time. To alleviate some of the stress, The Montgomery, The Residence at Weston, West22 and VIA123 are also providing new renters with an additional incentive to help with their move during these unprecedented times.

These initiatives are a reflection of the care and social-mindedness of everyone in our communities. We are proud to work with our residents, team members, vendors, and ownership partners to come together when it matters most, and make a difference locally to reduce the impact of COVID-19 on our health, wellness and security.
